GMP Certification Course

About GMP

Good manufacturing practices (GMP) are the practices required in order to conform to the guidelines recommended by agencies that control authorization and licensing for the manufacture and sale of food, drugs, and active pharmaceutical products. For food industry, GMP are the basic principles of operation a food processor should follow to produce a consistent, quality food product and are the basis of HACCP pre-requisite programs. GMP cover all aspects of production from the raw materials, premises and equipment to the personal hygiene and training

of staff. These regulations, which have the force of law, require that manufacturers, processors, and packagers of food, drugs, medical devices to take proactive steps to ensure that their products are safe, pure, and effective. This in turn, protects consumers from purchasing a product which is not effective or even dangerous. Detailed documentations on correct procedures are consistently followed at each step in the manufacturing process - every time a product is made. Knowledge and experience of GMP prove to be basic requirement for both employers and employees in the food industry.

Canadian College of Food and Health (CCFH) offers both in-class and online GMP training.

Why take GMP training?

General GMPs inspections are carried out by regulatory bodies such as CFIA, FDA or EMA, to assess the degree of conformity to prescribed standards of good manufacturing practices and to assess compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements, for example, licence provision. Most professionals working in organisations that must be GMP compliant are expected to be able to provide an individual or group certificate as a proof of compliance. To obtain an internationally valid GMP certificate, please register for our GMP training.

For employers, providing GMP training regularly to your employees ensures that they have appropriate knowledge to support GMP compliance activities within your operations and your facility produces a consistent and good quality food product, reducing potential recalls and increasing production efficiency.

For employees, the GMP certificate training course/program is absolutely of interest to personnel employed in the food industry who wish to advance or upgrade their skills and knowledge and individuals who wish to step into the promising food industry.
