About GMP

Good manufacturing practices (GMP) are the practices required in order to conform to the guidelines recommended by agencies that control authorization and licensing for the manufacture and sale of food, drugs, and active pharmaceutical products. For food industry, GMP are the basic principles of operation a food processor should follow to produce a consistent, quality food product and are the basis of HACCP pre-requisite programs. GMP cover all aspects of production from the raw materials, premises and equipment to the personal hygiene and training

of staff. These regulations, which have the force of law, require that manufacturers, processors, and packagers of food, drugs, medical devices to take proactive steps to ensure that their products are safe, pure, and effective. This in turn, protects consumers from purchasing a product which is not effective or even dangerous. Detailed documentations on correct procedures are consistently followed at each step in the manufacturing process - every time a product is made.
